WHY SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean, is considered one of the most beautiful islands on our
planet.
The lush vegetation and nature, the fascinating landscapes with their seemingly endless rice fields
and tea plantations, waterfalls, national parks and miles of palm-fringed dream beaches, the magical
royal sites and ancient and modern temples of Buddhism and Hinduism are of unique beauty. You will
find practically everything Asia has to offer here.

For most European citizens, obtaining your Sri Lanka tourist visa is a straightforward process, primarily handled online. Let's guide you step-by-step to ensure a hassle-free arrival.
- Step 1: Ensure Your Passport is Ready
- Step 2: Access the Official Sri Lanka e-Visa Portal
- The primary method for obtaining your tourist visa is through the official online portal.
- Official Sri Lanka e-Visa Portal: https://www.srilankaevisa.lk/ (Please note: Past information indicated temporary suspensions and returns to the ETA. Always verify the latest official portal before directing guests. As of current information, srilankaevisa.lk is the designated portal).
- Beware of third-party websites that may charge excessive fees. Always use the official government portal.
- Step 3: Complete the Online Application Form
- Navigate to the "Apply" section for a Tourist Visa.
-
Fill in all required personal details accurately, including:
- Full name as per passport
- Passport details (number, issue/expiry dates)
- Nationality
- Date of birth
- Contact information (email address is crucial for receiving your e-Visa)
- Travel details (expected arrival date, flight number if known, and purpose of visit – "Holidaying/Sightseeing/Ayurvedic Treatment").
- Accommodation: You may be asked for details of your first night's accommodation. Having your hotel booking from FindMyAyurveda.com ready is helpful.
- Beware of third-party websites that may charge excessive fees. Always use the official government portal.
- Step 4: Pay the Visa Fee Securely Online
- The system will prompt you to pay the applicable visa fee.
- Accepted payment methods usually include major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express).
- The fee for a 30-day tourist visa for most nationalities is typically around US$50 for a double-entry visa.
- Please note: Fees are subject to change by the Sri Lankan government.
- Step 5: Submit Your Application & Receive Confirmation
- After reviewing all details, submit your application.
- You will usually receive an acknowledgement email promptly.
- Your e-Visa approval (or a referral notice if more information is needed) is typically sent to your email within 24-72 hours. In many cases, it's much faster!
- Print a Copy: It's highly advisable to print a copy of your e-Visa approval notice to present to immigration officials upon arrival, although it's electronically linked to your passport.
- Step 6: Arrival in Sri Lanka
- Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) or any other port of entry, proceed to immigration.
- Present your passport and your printed e-Visa approval notice to the immigration officer.
- Ensure you have a confirmed return ticket and sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay. These are general immigration requirements.
- Ayurvedic Treatment & Yoga: The tourist visa explicitly allows for medical treatments, including Ayurvedic and yoga practices. Your FindMyAyurveda.com package perfectly aligns with the visa's purpose!
- Visa on Arrival (VOA): While a VOA facility exists at the airport, it generally costs more (e.g., US$60) and applying in advance online is highly recommended to avoid queues and potential complications.
- Visa Extensions: If you wish to extend your stay beyond the initial 30 days, it is possible to apply for an extension while in Sri Lanka. Applications can be submitted online via the Department of Immigration and Emigration's e-services portal or in person at their head office in Battaramulla.

- The first extension is typically granted for 60 days, and the maximum length of a tourist visa can be up to 270 days.
